Pull Tab Panda Flap Card
So this is my first post on my blog. Feels a bit weird to actually publish something and I hope people will like what I make. This card is similar to a waterfall card but only has one flap hence the title
Here’s what I used:
AC Cardstock - Brights 12x12 pad in blue -
1 x 8.5x5.5 inches scored along the long side at 4.25 inches
1 x 6x2 inches scored along the long side at 3.5 and 4 inches
1 x 2.75x2.75 inches
1 x 2.25x2.25 inches
White card stock 250gsm -
1 x 5.25x4 inches for the inside
1 x 5x3.75 inches for the front mat
1 x 2.5x2.5 inches and 1 x 2x2 inches for images and sentiments
Dovecraft’s over the rainbow 12x12 paper pad -
1 x 4.75x3.5 inches
These are the things I used -
1. Cut and score all of your mats and layers, stamp your images and sentiments and layer them together. Add inside piece.
If you have a tag punch, punch the end of the mechanism that is furthest away from the score lines. Add ribbon with staples or punching a hole.
Make a slit in the dovecraft paper in the centre measuring 2 and one eights of an inch by a quarter of an inch. This is to put the mechanism through.
Fold and burnish the score lines and fold at the 3.5 inch line back on itself.
Add adhesive to the space between the 4 inch line and the end and add your smaller sentiment panel centrally just up to the score line.
Add adhesive to the half inch space and put your larger panel on over the top of the first just up to the next score line. Take care to make it central.
Your mechanism is done and needs to be passed through the slit in the dovecraft paper ribbon end first. Add a strip of adhesive to the end of the smaller panel like in the picture and flip it to adhere to the patterned paper centrally.
Put foam pads on the back and add to the front of your card.
That’s it! I’m not a fancy crafter but I like simple cards that look great. Have fun and remember ‘where there is mess there is creativity’
